My new workout plan that you can do from anywhere with MJ Fitness Boutique featured on Kansas City lifestyle blog 45 Fairmount by Monica Woodhams

I’m not the most consistent person when it comes to working out outside of yoga. I’ll go through phases where I’m headed to an intense workout 3 times a week and then I’ll go 6 months without going to one of those.

That’s where I was at up until today.

Of course, the reason why I wasn’t going was filled with excuses:

  • It’s too far away
  • The classes aren’t at times that work with my schedules
  • No accountability

I recently started to get the itch though to get back into it and spent some time debating what I should do. All I knew was that I wanted to be able to do it from home or a nearby gym to my house. As the universe would have it, as I was debating what program to do, MJ Fitness Boutique reached out to me about a collaboration.

Seriously, I don’t think I’ve ever had a collaboration with such awesome timing.

I didn’t know much about MJ Fitness Boutique, but when I learned that they’re all about feeling good (nutrition and fitness) and looking cute (they have their own clothing line) I thought this would be the perfect fit!

Beginning today, I’m beginning their FLEXY program which you can do from¬†anywhere.¬†And you know what that means?

Every single excuse that I listed is negated. Here’s why:

  • I can do it at home
  • Since I can do it at home I can do it at any time I want
  • There’s accountability because they check in with you twice a week

WORKING OUT AT HOME

Working out at home is an amazing way to get out of a “not working out recently” funk, especially in the winter. You don’t have to worry about fighting traffic, getting there on time, or adding an extra 20-30 minutes to your day in commuting.

If you’re shy, this is also a really great option because you don’t need to stress out about feeling intimidated working out in a class that’s filled with people who have been taking that class for months.

The FLEXY program can definitely be done at home, especially if your apartment complex has a gym (that’s where I did my workout today) or you can do it at your gym of course. There is equipment required, but today, for example, I only needed dumbells and a bench. Not bad, right?!

Do it on your terms, when you want

The whole “class time” was a huge excuse for me. I wanted to go at times when I knew the class wouldn’t be crowded, but then that limited me to the daytime and I always ran into conflicts like having calls or meetings at that time.

With this MJ Fitness Boutique Flexy program, there’s no excuse for not fitting it into my schedule. When you first join the program, you receive the first two weeks right away which is awesome when it comes to planning out your next 2 weeks without getting overwhelmed long term. It also means that you don’t have to be waiting every day to know what your next workout is going to be, which is especially helpful if you do morning workouts.

Accountability

Accountability is HUGE when it comes to working out. That’s why when I lived in Dallas, I worked with a personal trainer. It meant that I HAD to wake up at 5 am for my workouts and HAD to push myself and not slack off.

Accountability is also a great motivator because my trainer would constantly remind me of how far I had come.

Even though this program is on your own, the MJ Fitness Boutique team is still super involved. It’s different from other programs where you just get a Facebook group for accountability. With this program, you get 1:1 attention with two check-ins per week. I was SO impressed when I learned that I really think that kind of 1:1 attention and accountability is what makes people successful when it comes to their fitness goals.

Program Structure

My first impression of the program was pretty great. I had everything I needed to get started today sent into my inbox the night before. They do a good job of making sure that they’re not overwhelming you with information which is something that I have definitely experienced in the past.

I received my workout plan for the next 1-2 weeks, a picture guide showing me how to do each move (this is SUPER helpful because I need a visual when it comes to this stuff, not just a description), and nutrition tips.

Speaking of nutrition, I LOVED their nutrition tips. Why? Because it’s all about BALANCE and PORTIONS. No cutting carbs, not cutting food groups. We could not be more on the same page here!

Throughout the next few weeks, I’m going to be sharing with y’all my journey through the program. Make sure that you’re following me on Instagram because that’s where I’ll be sharing a lot of my updates through Instagram Stories. You’ll also want to follow them on Insta too!

I’ll also be popping in on Facebook and Instagram Live and sharing more with you on the blog each week!

If you have any questions about choosing a fitness program, questions about MJ Fitness Boutique, or just working out in general and fighting through those mental blocks on what’s preventing you from doing it, leave a comment below or feel free to email me. I think it would be super fun to do a Live Q&A with the MJ Fitness Boutique team and get it all answered for you!
