One of the things that has drawn me to move back to my hometown of Kansas City is the increasing number of events and excitement around the city itself. Despite aving grown up, I don’t think I ever made it to Chicks Events before this year.
Having the opportunity to go this year was so much fun. The local shops and crafters that show up are incredible. I love seeing what everyone is creating and how they’re really going for it!
My girl boss friend, Chrystal (owner of The Tulle Box) has a booth and it was great stopping by and seeing everything that she has been creating in person. She has the CUTEST dry erase magnets and I became obsessed with the “I Dream in Confetti Mugs.”
My favorite discovery was Indie Olive. The Kansas City prints were so cute and I already have them noted on my inspiration board for my new home office. My friend Jenna (of J.Lynn Designery) bought the adorable rose gold Rose print.
One of the biggest takeaways from attending Chick Events was that we’ve all known for forever how important it is to shop local, but it hasn’t always been easy even if you have the intention to do so. However, now more than ever, there are more and more opportunities to shop local (both in person and online so you don’t have to wait for a fair or event) to do so!
