Monochromatic outfits aren’t my usual go to, but with the right color, I love it. Lately, I have been loving olive green. These olive jeans in particular are a weekly staple. I have had this pair from Zara for years and still love them. I normally have trouble finding pants at Zara that fit right, but somehow these have managed to be one of my favorite pairs of jeans. Even though these are from a few years back, I did find these similar ones (they’re Rag & Bone’s on sale, can’t beat that). When I found this cami at J.Crew, I immediately knew that I wanted to do a post on the monochromatic look. Here are my three tips on pulling it together.
Monochromatic Outfit Style Tips
Choose the right color – While this seems obvious, but it’s important to not only choose a color that is flattering, but one that you are used to wearing. If you never wear black, and you decide to dress in head to black, you’re just not going to feel comfortable.
Keep the accessories neutral – Neutral accessories are especially important if you are wearing an all over bright color like yellow or pink. The outfit statement you’re making is about the monochromatic look, so you don’t want your accessories to distract from it.
Layer – If you’re not ready to commit to the full monochromatic outfit look, layer the look. This button down shirt is one of my favorite layering pieces. It works with just about anything like when I wore it with this skirt and tee.
