One of my favorite trips last month was to San Diego to visit one of my best friends from college and to attend the Bloguettes branding workshop. I love being in Southern California. Getting to drive through the hills and driving past the ocean is where I am at my most peaceful state. It is the one moment out of my day where I can say I am absolutely living in the moment. While I didn’t get to spend as much time with Liz and her husband as I would have liked, we did get to share breakfast and dinner together at two amazing spots in La Jolla. For breakfast we went to The Cottage where I ordered the most delicious egg scramble (Joe’s Special) with potatoes and a scone. For dinner that evening we ate at George’s at the Cove, which as an amazing ocean view and delicious seafood. I ordered the ceviche and octopus.
If you saw my last post on my perfect weekend outfit, you would have seen my “I don’t need the internet, the internet needs me” tee. This is one of the goodies I received at the Bloguettes workshop. What’s great about the Bloguettes workshop is that they break down the various aspects of blogging so that you can manage your blog and business on your own. We learned design, blogging for business, and the importance of branding. Guest speakers made an appearance including Be Social PR and Jordan Bosstick from Miss American Made. The biggest takeaway for me was how inspiring it is to be around young women who have similar aspirations. For more about the Bloguettes check out their recap of the weekend here.
